E-Cycle Ontario presented the Strathroy Middlesex General Hospital Auxiliary with a unique and environmentally friendly fundraising opportunity by diverting e-waste from solid landfill into support medical equipment at SMGH.
Strathroy and surrounding area individuals were given the opportunity to discard their unwanted electronics at the Strathroy Middlesex General Hospital from October 25th-27th. The collections, as well as from an additional number of arranged pick-ups, resulted in the accumulation of hundreds of electronic items, including televisions, cellular telephones, computers, batteries and much more. The weight and value of these donated electronic items resulted in the donation of $1,297.53 to the SMGH Auxiliary.
“We appreciate and Thank everyone who participated in this unique venture and look forward to making E-Cycle an annual partner is the SMGH Auxiliary fundraising efforts,” says SMGH Auxiliary President, Karrin Kimberly.
These funds will assist the SMGH Auxiliary in supporting the purchase of new orthopaedic surgical equipment for SMGH.
